"What will your legacy be?"

Have you ever thought, "What will they say about me when I'm gone?"
People want to leave a legacy because they want to feel that their life mattered and this isn't just reserved for the wealthy. Everyone can be a philanthropist and create a legacy that tells their story.
The time is now to secure our Jewish future.
Join us to create your lasting legacy. We are embarking upon our first-ever, multi-phase Endowment and Planned Giving Campaign to create permanent financial stability for our greater Northeast Florida Jewish community. With endowed funds, we can ensure that sustainable funding is available to preserve Jewish life in Northeast Florida for generations to come.
Please consider contributing to the Federation Endowment Fund.
Any gift to this fund will be matched 1 for 1 in 2021!
With a $500k challenge fund, every dollar you give has twice the impact.

Leaving A Legacy

A look back at the legacy of Morton Robert Hirschberg and the importance of endowed giving.

What is the Jewish Foundation?

The Jewish Foundation continues the great work of nurturing partnerships between our major Jacksonville area synagogues and Jewish agencies. It exists to provide charitable gift planning services to our partners and interested members of our community. Above all, it protects the financial interests of our partners and strives to ensure that the intent of all donors who wish to support Jewish organizations is always honored. The Jewish Foundation exists to develop the permanent funds necessary to meet the growing needs of our immediate Jewish community and to secure Jewish tomorrows.

Our Legacy

The Jewish Foundation (JF) was established to last in perpetuity. Founded in 1995 with support from leaders within our Jewish community and merged with our Jewish Federation January 2018, the Foundation focuses on Jewish support and shared responsibility. By creating an endowment fund or other legacy gift at the Jewish Foundation you are helping to achieve that vision and growing the power of communal giving. With long term development and growth plans in place, the Jewish Foundation will make "grants" based on community needs. This dividend would only be possible through our continued growth and collaboration with our local and overseas community partners and donors. When donors direct a portion of the endowment proceeds to be available for grant making or allow for their community fee to be used in Jewish Grant Making, we are able to serve our community and enable growth for Jews everywhere. This is the key to long-term relevance and significance of the Jewish Foundation in providing the long term flexible resources needed by all our partner agencies.

The Jewish Foundation offers expertise and insight into the prospective needs of the greater Northeast Florida Jewish Community and its local and overseas partners. With an ever-growing need for sustainable funding for our synagogues, schools, agencies, and other Jewish organizations, we must act before we are faced with the reality of having to downsize or close a vital component within our community. Our partner agencies are facing an increase in demand for services delivered while having to balance funding cuts and they need our help now to ensure tomorrow.

How we make a difference

Our work is about continuing the important Jewish tradition of Tzedakah, giving to those in need; to our older adults, to Jewish education, to our children and their children, for many years to come. For more than two decades, families in Jacksonville have been carefully curating their legacies and we are honored to be part of their stories.

Helping to craft each family’s vision for a Jewish tomorrow is a joy and we remain committed to helping our donors perpetuate a living legacy of caring that will last beyond their lifetime and inspire from generation to generation.
