COVID-19 RESOURCES AND COMMUNITY INFORMATION

Below you will find a community resource guide with information for not only your local Jewish community, but also city information and other resouces from the WHO and the CDC. We are also posting re-opening information as it is announced. Please check back as we continue to update this page.

Reopening Information

 

JCA - The JCA has reopened for limited fitness and recreation programming. Please refer to their website for the most up-to-date information about activities as well as guidelines and procedures for entering the building etc.

 

Jewish Family & Community Services - 

  • Federation, and members of the community, have committed over $100,000 to the First Coast Relief Fund. These funds can be accessed through JFCS for members of our Jewish community. Please call Hilary for more information: 904-394-5722.

  • The Max Block Food Pantry will have bagged food available for pick-up between 1-3:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday at our Dupont location (6261 Dupont Station Court East). When you come to the food pantry, please park in a numbered space in front of the pantry, stay in your vehicle, and turn on your hazard lights. Someone will come to your vehicle to assist you.

  • Teletherapy is currently being offered either online or over the phone. Counseling is offered on a sliding scale based on income. Many different insurnaces are also accepted, including Medicaid. Call 904-394-5706 to schedule an appointment.

Volunteering

 

The Jewish Federation and Foundation of Northeast Florida is constantly assesing the growing needs in our community. We are in touch with our synagogues and agencies to determine where needs are greatest and what actions can make all the difference. Internet Essentials by Comcast - Need low-cost WiFi capability at home? Comcast currently offers Internet Essentials to eligible low-income households. New customers recieve two months of free service.

 

IRS - The IRS has moved the deadline to both FILE and PAY income taxes from April 15th to July 15th. For more information about tax relief and the forthcoming Economic Impact Payments, follow the link.

  • Have an IRA and haven't taken your RMD? The CARES Act includes a provision which waives the RMD requirement for 2020. For your information about how this will impact your finances, cick HERE.

Support Local - An initiative that lets you show support for your favorite local businesses. Search for your favorite by name or by city, and purchase a gift card or other online merchandise to help them through this difficult time. Own a business and don't see yours listed? Add it today!

 

COVID-19 Small Business Resource Center - A collection of resources by Hello Alice or your small business, including tips for enhacning your online presence, how to effectively work from home, financial aid and government news and more. Highlight: Hello Alice is offering $10,000 Emergency Grants for small businesses. Click the link to apply!
